Running against - or with - my time. Countdown is on, because my maternity leave is starting in just 4 weeks. While I cannot wait for our new chapter, I do struggle to picture myself not working (not evaluating if that's good or bad, but that's just how it is). And this week has been particularly special, filled with awesome moments, which make it even harder:On a personal level:- Received many many flowers from my super duper team because I got married 😗 - Received the most thoughtful and personalgift from Anjana R. and my little one can't wait to wear it 😎 - said officially goodbye to my sustainability team 🧡 On a content & professional level:- Had the pleasure of listening to the final presentation of the ReDI School of Digital Integration Creative Communication Course. It's been incredible to see what they have come up with!! Thanks to Luisa Laufenberg & Linda Heinemann for realizing this collaboration!!- Kicked off our fantastic program with socialbee gGmbH, which promises to be so impactful for so many people. Thanks to Isabel Warnecke, Sarah Tönjes and many many more for making this happen! - And today I attended the ADAN Careers Recruiting Event at Beiersdorf, where I listened to Nicola Lafrentz & Misel Ahoms "ask me anything" session, met some amazing talents and had enriching conversations about diversity and inclusion in the workplace. And where I bumped into amazing people after quite a long time like Gloria Schulz. Thanks to Lilli Stenzel & Kira Steffens for organizing and bringing ADAN to Beiersdorf! Andrea OttAnd big shoutout to my partner in crime Susanne Iser with whom I literally spent the last three evenings together - but we did not take a picture 😍 😅

Recognizing the value in our differences ❤️ For the first time I was part of our annual People Summit at Beiersdorf - besides the fact, that content and atmosphere were great, there was one thing even more striking for me. Anjana R. - nearly a year ago we had a conversation about possibly not fitting in, being insecure and how to navigate corporate life as a more introvert person. Last week I have seen you moderate the entire HR people summit for senior leaders, and it has been exceptional. By creating an inclusive environment where everyone’s uniqueness is valued, we can hire and bind people that greatly add to the organization, instead of just fitting in.

You can be both - and most important, yourself.Winning a Beiersdorf GLC-Award has been a recognition that was especially meaningful to me because I was struggling with me and my difficulties to network during the offsite. Asking myself, why everyone is so much at ease with it. 🙈 If you would ask someone who knows me, they would def. rate me as an extrovert - but you can be both - an extrovert in smaller groups and an introvert in bigger groups. I often find it so challenging to connect in large, formal settings and can't help myself. At the same time we won this award for the biggest engagement and community activity at entire Beiersdorf. Because we had a dream, a vision and a superb team. I cannot thank the team and all our Care-Beyond-Skin-Day-Ambassadors enough for believing in what I believed in - in supporting something, we never tried before and in succeeding; with all ups and downs.You can be both - and you should not be too hard on yourself.

1st day of my new job (well, it's bank holiday), and half-time through my pregnancy. Therefore, I am happy to announce my new position, coinciding with this wonderfuly personal journey*.I cannot wait to be back in HR, joining Misel Ahoms team and leading the Early Careers Team! After a superb experience within our Sustainability Department, I'm returning to my roots in HR with a fresh perspective and the same passion, which made me join Beiersdorf as a working student.My goal is to foster an inclusive and dynamic environment where innovation thrives, and individuals are empowered to reach their fullest potential. First and last ones are always special. It was my last big event in my current role as Head of Social Commitments at Beiersdorf - and it was Beiersdorfs first after work event ever! Hosted and managed by Hannah Trigg & Jasmina Rust & Jasmin Tellbüscher We celebrated our sustainability achievements, one of them our first global volunteering days - the Care Beyond Skin Days, my first global project and baby. Only achieved, because of the core squad behind : Veronika Glauberman Anna Hewing & Sonia Reichensperger. ♥️We celebrated the teams around the world - from Peru to Spain to India (Giannina Brazzini, Nuria Cuesta López & Foram T.) 🌸It was my first leadership role and will always be a special one. Thanks to my incredible team for making those 2 years unforgettable and thanks to Vincent Warnery & Jean-François Pascal for believing in the 28-year old Valerie and putting her into a global leadership role. Here is to soon new adventures (of course at Beiersdorf) and an amazing evening, with amazing people.

It takes people and society. Boris Dutli taking the opportunity to talk to a Beiersdorf audience and spotlight on “why we should all be feminists” was the best keynote I have ever listened to (obviously being super biased). Only together, we can bring equity & equality closer. Having a partner, who was raised to not live up to old role expectations encouraged me to live up to my own expectations - loving finances, Boris loving cooking and to equally share a year of parental leave. #IWD

2024 is set to be the most significant year for democracy in human history, with more than half of the worlds population due to cast their votes in the coming months. (Elections are taking place in over 50 countries and unions around the world) source: earthrise.studio Now more than ever, your voice matters - every single voice matters. That’s what democracy is about. You don’t just have democracy, you live democracy, you have to be part of democracy. In Hamburg more than 50.000 people showed up - against the right wing party, for diversity, inclusion, belonging and the beauty and power of cultures and nations. We could have said “we’re not going, because a lot of people are showing up, so we don’t matter at all. 1 or 2 less, no one will notice”. But imagine everyone would think like that.
