From romantic rooms with river views to spacious vacation rentals mere steps from the beach, Seaside offers some of the best options to stay overnight on the Oregon Coast. In the Heart of the Promenade Action
It doesn’t get more convenient than the Seaside Promenade, a historic 1.5-mile oceanfront paved walkway affectionately known simply as “the Prom.” On the northern end of the stretch, just around the corner from the Seaside Aquarium, the pet-friendly Ebb Tide Oceanfront Inn offers ocean-facing rooms with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, plus gas fireplaces for when you need an extra touch of coziness. Some come with kitchenettes, too.
Another oceanfront property nearby, The Seashore Inn on the Beach, also welcomes pets. Come for brightly furnished, ocean-facing rooms — or choose a budget-friendly option that doesn’t look out on the ocean but still offers easy beach access. An indoor pool, hot tub and sauna are great for unwinding at the end of a day of coastal fun.
Just beyond the Prom’s historic Turnaround — which marks the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail — the Inn at the Prom is a great choice for families and couples wanting to be about as central as it gets. The rooms and suites are spacious and come with jetted tubs, and some have kitchenettes or full kitchens. Ocean-facing rooms have private balconies or patios, too.
Resting by the River
If a river view within walking distance of the beach is more your style, Seaside has you covered. Check out some of the great places to stay on the banks of the Necanicum River, which runs right through town. Just a few blocks inland from the Promenade Turnaround, the boutique Kathryn Riverfront Inn features cozy, low-key elegant rooms — almost all of which have river-facing balconies. For a romantic stay, opt for a King Bed Suite, which comes with a gas fireplace and a jetted hot tub.
Next door the River Inn at Seaside has a mix of traditional rooms — many with river-facing balconies — plus spacious suites equipped with kitchenettes, many of which are pet-friendly. Property perks include an indoor saltwater pool, a game room, a playground, a gym and bike rentals.
On the eastern side of the river, the Rivertide Suites is another great option, particularly for families and longer stays. The river- and mountain-facing suites here come with full kitchens and washers/dryers. Choices range from studios with sleeper sofas to spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom condos that sleep up to six people.
The Tides by the Sea
A Beach Home Away From Home on the South Side
If you’d rather stay slightly away from the action — or are looking for home-like accommodations — your best bet may be to head to the south part of town. There you’ll find plenty of apartment-style hotels and vacation rentals. The Tides by the Sea is a classic favorite, welcoming guests to its condo-style accommodations since 1926. Individually furnished rooms range from ocean-facing studios with kitchens to expansive two-bedroom cottages that are suited to families and groups of friends vacationing together. Best of all, you can book the specific unit you want, so there will be no surprises.
A bit farther down the beach, Lanai at the Cove offers a couple dozen privately owned studios, all with kitchenettes and balconies or patios, plus a heated outdoor pool. You’ll find it perched on a rocky portion of the shore that draws surfers, and is great for whale-spotting and enjoying the waves and weather. Each night, the hotel illuminates the waves with a bright light so you can enjoy the views as late as you like.
Larger groups love properties with amenities for kids like game rooms, including Lallybroch Cottage, a 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom vacation rental on the edge of the Seaside Golf Club, and the spacious 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom Nordic House in the Cove, with views of Surfer’s Cove. Some feature multiple living rooms for enjoying ocean views, like Vista House, which provides a crackling fireplace for cozy evenings, as well as 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms for the whole family.
